CoSAAP demands foolproof security

ITANAGAR, Apr 04: The Confederation of Service Association of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) appealed to the State Govt. to provide foolproof security to the state Govt.  employees appointed on election duty in different parts of the state.

While appealing to all political parties, contesting candidates, polling agents and workers of various political parties to not harass the employees engaged in the election duty CoSAAP appealed to the state govt. employees to maintain fairness and sincerity while performing their election duty.

 

DEO urged to check illegal movement of money

ITANAGAR, Apr 04: With election dates nearing fear that money will be used to buy voters are being expressed from across the state. BJP candidate for 36th Nari Koyu assembly constituency Kento Rina has written to district election officer, East Siang district informing her about possibility of money being brought in from neighbouring state by INC candidate to buy voters. He urged DEO to take measures to stop such illegal tactic of INC candidate at the earliest.

Casting of postal ballots gets underway

BOMDILA, April 4: After a tiresome job for three consecutive days, a total of 408 EVMs was commissioned late last night by the DEO in presence of ADC (Eln), Nodal Officer (EVM) and ECIL Engineers for the 154 polling stations in the district in connection with the Parliamentary and Assembly elections. Assembly elections in 41 polling stations under 4-Dirang would not be held as the INC candidate of that segment had been declared uncontested.

The casting of Postal Ballot began this morning at Bomdila where a total of 224 officials on duty cast their vote for the Parliamentary and 202 cast their PB for the assembly elections. A minimum of 1441 officials are expected to cast their vote through postal ballot in this simultaneous elections.

On requisition, a total of 70 personnel from the district would be leaving for East Kameng tomorrow on polling duty.

The mobile and static teams landed and seized a total of 59 & 1/2 bottles of IMFL today from various locations in the district. DIPRO

 

Flying squads seize cash and kinds at seppa

SEPPA, Apr 04: The Flying Squads team actively doing their duties and seized as many cash and kinds for illegal possession undermining the model code of conduct at Seppa.

So far, the flying squads seized a cash amounts of Rs 6,46,000, 67 case & 8 bottles Beer, 10 cases hard drink & 3 cases casino, 25 cases breezer etc.

ITANAGAR, Apr 04: The level-O fitness trainers course by National Cricket Academy (NCA) teaching faculty for North East States including Arunachal Pradesh to be held from April 9 to 12 at Guwahati under Assam Cricket Association and  associate and the affiliated remaining leg of senior women and U-25 Men’s Cricket Tournament has been postponed by BCCI in view of the Lok Sabha and assembly elections on April 9 next till further notice. This was informed in a press release issued by Arunachal Cricket Association.

 

Expenditure observer reviews records

PASIGHAT, Apr 4: Expenditure Observer Rajesh Ojha this evening convened a meeting with the Nodal Expenditure Officer Patit Pawan Mahanta, Chairman of Video Surveillance Team M Ezing and other members related to expenditure management.

Ojha once again cleared all doubts/queries of the officers assigned with the duties of expenditure monitoring. He underlined the need to adhere the guidelines of the commission to achieve the motive of ethical voting and free and fair elections.

Ojha also underlined the need for close surveillance and effective monitoring of ECI guidelines to regulate expenditure made by the political parties and stressing upon the coordination between various teams constituted for expenditure observance he directed the officers to maintain proper records, which will serve as evidence. All reports should be prepared timely as per guidelines of ECI in to-to and submitted regularly to the concerned authority. Earlier this morning the Observer checked the ‘Expenditure Register’ being maintained by the political parties. Expressing his dismay, the observer instructed the agents of both the contesting parties of 36-Nari-Koyu Assembly Constituency to furnish correct and complete information in a proper manner to him in the next meeting to avoid future complicacies.

Meanwhile commissioning of EVMs was completed last night under the supervision of DEO Nidhi Srivastava. Altogether 28 nos of EVMs were handed over to the ADC Boleng for further issuance. DIPRO

 

Training for micro observers and poll personnel

DAPORIJO, Apr 4: Hectic preparations are on for the successful conduct of the Parliamentary and Assembly elections 2014 in the Upper Subansiri district. The day saw the distribution of polling material for far flung areas of Taksing, Giba and Chetam circles, where the polling teams have to reach the polling stations by trekking on foot for days. The movement of these polling teams will begin on 5th April so that they reach their polling station before the polling day.

The Final phase of the training for presiding and polling officers was conducted at the Rijo Conference Hall here today in the presence of DEO Tahang Taggu and ADC Kanki Darang.

Addressing those present, the DEO Tahang Taggu encouraged all to learn the rules and processes carefully and sincerely discharge their duties and responsibilities to make the elections a fair one. He also urged all to clear any doubts that they had so that no mistakes were made later on.

Master Trainers P Kalita, R P S Rawat, Dr. B Paul, S. B. Singh and Rayom Lomdak gave training on the all the procedures to be followed, filling up of statutory and non statutory forms and gave practical training of EVMs to the polling personnel.

The day also saw the final training of Micro Observers by the team of master trainers on how to observe the polling process, to check whether the procedure is being followed in the polling stations etc. The Micro Observers were also briefed by the General Observer Pramod Kumar Das on the guidelines and checklist to be followed by them on the polling day. He advised them to check the timely reporting of poll personnel, timely start of polls and asked them to keep proper records of all their observations and issues for onward submission. DIPRO

 

MAC chief calls for cultural unity

ITANAGAR, Apr 04: Chief Executive Councillor of Mishing Autonomous Council (MAC) Dr. Ronuj Pegu reminded the people about the need of cultural unity and preservation of unique identity of indigenous tribal people of the North East.

Attending Mopin celebration here yesterday, Dr. Pegu stressed that we must overlook the political divide which have separated the brethren of the Tani tribes to different states.

Tabom Bam, Secretary to Government of India, Inter-State Council, Ministry of Home Affairs recalled the contributions of Galo senior citizens in organizing the Mopin Festival at Itanagar.

Nineteen Popir (Traditional Mopin Dance) teams from various sectors of Itanagar enthralled the participants with Popir and cultural performances.  

The Mopin festival is being celebrated in a very ritualistic manner by building a traditional Galo house for the priest at Mopin-Solung ground here under the leadership of Mopin Festival Celebration Committee (MFCC), Itanagar 2014 president Gumjum Haider and General Secretary Yaadam Loyi.

BHALUKPONG, Apr 04: Chief Minister Nabam Tuki along with Arunachal East Lok Sabha contestant of the Congress Takam Sanjoy attended a Congress rally at Bhalukpong under Thrizino-Buragaon Assembly constituency in West Kameng district. The constituency is represented by Kumsi Sidisow, who is also seeking reelection on a Congress ticket.

Addressing a huge gathering, Tuki reminded the people of April 9, when the state goes to polls for both Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies.

“Please do not forget April 9, the day for decision making. We are here to remind you of that and seek your support in form of valuable votes to continue the development pace with renewed vigour,” he said.

Highlighting the promises of the Congress if voted back to power, Tuki informed of the Special Economy Zones (SEZs) proposed to be set up in the state. These SEZs would include Pharma & Medical Tourism SEZ, Information Technology SEZ, Knowledge City and Fruit and Food Processing Industrial Zone.

Referring to the potential of Bhalukpong, situated in the foothills bordering Assam, Tuki felt that one of the SEZs could be established in the area.

According to the State Congress manifesto, pharmaceutical SEZ will be established in the foothills to attract pharma companies to set up factories while Medical Tourism SEZ will facilitate traditional healing alternate medicine and herbal therapy. A special SEZ has been proposed in urban area exclusively for the IT sector that would also include assembly plants and call centers. A Knowledge City would promote education and academic activities while the Fruit and Food Processing Industrial Zone will cater to the abundant produces from across the state.

“Help us once in five years and we will help you for five years,” appealed Tuki seeking support for both Sanjoy and Kumsi.

Lok Sabha contestant Takam Sanjoy appealed the electorates not to get swayed away by divisive forces. “An MP cannot be judged on the basis of his background, clan or region. An individual contesting election may not be important but the Party for which he or she is standing is important. Congress is the only pan-India and inclusive secular party. You have to choose between the party which unites or the party that divides,” he said.

Phurpa Tsering, the unopposed Congress nominee from Dirang assembly constituency, who was also present in the rally, took time out to hit back at BJP and its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Phurpa claimed that he had gone to the BJP rally at Itanagar hoping to listen to Modi and learn a few tips on speech delivery.   “I was completely disappointed. Instead of learning anything good I only heard accusations and threats to the Gandhi family and our Chief Minister,” Phurpa said and asserted that a person like Modi is not fit to become Prime Minister of the country.

Kumsi, on his part, asserted that Arunachal Pradesh was safe in the hands of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and the Congress party at the center. Therefore, he fervently appealed support for Sanjoy to strengthen the Congress at the Center. He also sought support for himself so that he could return to the Assembly and ensure formation of a Congress Government under Tuki. (Media Cell, APCC)

 

 

DM issues order for revocation of arm licenses to defaulters

AALO, Apr 04: The District Magistrate West Siang district M K Sahoo has served revocation orders under section 17(3) (d) of Arms Act 1959 to many arms license holders for purported disobedience for not depositing their arms at their nearest police stations latest by 22nd of March despite repeated circulation of orders. Exercising the powers conferred under the Act, the DM has issued revocation orders to persons concerned by name to deposit their firearm with ammunition under their possession to the nearest police station failing which they will be arrested under Arms Act 1959 for possession of illegal arms & ammunitions.

Alternative documents:   The West Siang DEO  MK Sahoo has also issued a notice for information to general public who are not able to produce EPIC, (Election Photo Identity Card) to produce alterative documents like Passport, driving license, Service Identity Card, Bank Passbook with photograph, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR, MNREGA job Card, Health Insurance Smart Card, Pension Document with photograph and authenticated Photo Voter Slip issued by BLOs.  This arrangement is as per the latest instruction of ECI to facilitate all electors to take part in the ensuing election.

Final round of training and randomization of polling personnel conclude

ROING, Apr 04: The 3rd and final round of Election Training to the Presiding and Polling Officers at Multipurpose Cultural Hall which last for 3 days concluded today at Roing. During the training, Shiv Kumar, RO cum DEO and Sandeep Kr Singh, AC cum ARO briefed all the Presiding and Polling Officers to get themselves fully perfect with the EVM Operation and to clear any kind of doubts before leaving the district headquarter. Tage Tado, PD (DRDA), Basant Singh, Principal DIET and Abu Saring, DAEO along with EVM Master Trainer imparted the training in presence of DEO, ARO and M Riba, Training Observer.  

The third and final randomization of the polling personnel were also successfully done at NIC, Roing this morning in presence of Shiv Kumar, DEO, Sandeep Kr Singh, ARO and M Dirchi, DPO cum Nodal Officer for Man Power Management and EVM. In the final Randomization, polling teams were allotted their respective polling stations for both 42-Dambuk and 43-Roing (ST) Assembly Constituencies. The process of randomization was done by Er Yagru Linggi, DIO cum Nodal Officer for IT and Computerization and assisted by Er C W Namshoom, ADIO, NIC Roing.

The District Administration is almost prepared and set for the smooth conduct of simultaneous Election in the district as the movement order of polling teams is already in place. The 8 polling teams of the farthest and border circle, Desali would be the first to move from the district headquarter towards their respective polling stations. The Polling Stations under Desali Circle are the hardest to reach as the polling teams had to walk on foot for several hours on hilly terrains with their polling materials and essential ration commodities to reach their polling stations. The farthest and toughest polling stations from the district headquarter are the some border villages near China border namely Mitaka, Dopowa, Donli, Desali, Hukani, Aloni, and Jambupani under Desali Circle. They will move on April 6 along with police personnel, attendant and polling materials from the district headquarter. The next to leave would be the polling teams for Hunli, Paglam and Dambuk circles on April 7. And the polling teams for Parbuk and Koronu Circles and the adjoining polling stations that fall under Roing Sadar Area would be the last to move on April 8, just a day before the polling day.

All the necessary arrangement for the dispatch of the polling materials with EVMs are made at VKV Auditorium Hall in which Centre for Dispatch and Receiving has been opened.

It was also informed that the police personnel on election duty for Hunli - Desali and Dambuk– Paglam had already left for their respective places after briefing by the Superintendent of Police, B K Singh yesterday. DIPRO

 

 

‘Perform your duties with utmost sincerity’

ITANAGAR, Apr 04: The Siddhartha Hall in Capital Complex witnessed a lot of activities today as the  casting of postal ballot for all the Govt officials and staffs engaged in election duty was taking place under the watchful eyes of the DEO and RO along with the election agents of all the political parties. At the same venue, sector magistrates (SMs) of 13th Itanagar, 14th Doimukh and 15th Sagalee under Papumpare DEO were also briefed on their tasks and responsibilities in connection with the conduct of simultaneous election by the DC cum RO Itanagar Mige Kamki and DC cum DEO Papumpare Ashok Kumar.

The RO explained them in details their duties during pre poll, poll eve, poll day and post poll. Stressing that the role of the sector magistrates is one of the most responsible position, the RO called upon all to discharge their duties and responsibilities with dedication and utmost sincerity. He specifically asked them to instruct the Polling personnel to verify the EPIC card during the poll day.  Informing that the Flying Squads, Static Surveillance Team, Income Tax Officials, Expenditure Observers etc are already performing their duty round the clock, he  asked the sector magistrates also to keep an eye on any movement that violates the Model Code of Conduct. The DEO also briefed them on the basic do’s and don’t’s with regards to their duties. Later, the Sector Magistrates were joined by the Presiding Officers of the above mentioned three constituencies and were given proper briefing and demonstration on EVM. The three Master Trainers A Bhowmick, K Dutta and L D Singh also presented a power point presentation on the technicalities of the EVM. This is a battle of ballots and not bullets: The beauty and spirit of democracy

The contesting candidates of 60-Pongchau-Wakka Assembly constituency from different political parties have shown an excellent example of camaraderie and true democratic spirit. They are verbally fierce during their election campaign and attack each other in words as everybody wants to win, obviously but when they meet in person; they are as usual good friends talking about everyday life’s events pulling each other’s legs and sharing jokes and anecdotes. Former Minister and INC candidate Honchun Ngandam jokingly says, “We all are proud Wanchos. Only one of us will win the elections but some of us who will be defeated must not sob but work harder for the Wanchos. The one who wins will also work for the greater cause of the Wanchos. We must respect and honour the verdict of the people who are supreme in democracy.” It may be mentioned here that the 60-Pongchau-Wakka Assembly constituency is the most backward constituency in terms of infrastructure development, education, healthcare facilities etc mainly because of its remoteness. It shares borders with Myanmar and Nagaland  due to which insurgency is quite active as various insurgent outfits sneak in from Myanmar and Nagaland through the porous borders thereby creating law and order problems there.

The other contesting candidates from other Assembly constituencies must emulate the great example set by the candidates from 60-Pongchau-Wakka Assembly constituency. They must know that election is only like a game wherein some win while some lose. The candidates from Tirap district should learn from their Wancho counterparts. It’s sad to observe that in Tirap district the contesting candidates take the battle of the ballot too personally. This is not a healthy sign at all. All the candidates must learn to respect their opponents and forgive and forget whatever had happened during the election campaigns. The voters can choose only one candidate whom they think is the best. So, the candidates should invariably respect the decision of the voters. They should also learn to accept defeat with dignity and victory with humility. A defeat in the election doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world. There is always the next time. The voters have become conscious over the years. They know who really wants to work for the people and who wants to take them for a merry ride. The candidates have to perform and deliver the goods if they want to win over the voters.

By nature, the Wanchos are happy, easy-going people. They are literally musical people and all the Wanchos are excellent singers and dancers. The music is inherent in their upbringing. The young adolescent boys and girls learn songs in the Paang  [Dormitory institution] from their elders. A love song form called ‘Lailung’ is very popular in many parts of Wancho areas. They quickly forget what had happened during the campaign and prepare themselves for the next elections. They always display the true democratic spirit. Asrani, Falerio campaign for Cong in Arunachal

NIRJULI, Apr 04: BJP wants to take India to the 18th century while Congress wants to take it to the 21st, said noted film star Asrani, taking a potshot at BJP Prime Ministerial Narendra Modi.

“Thodi bahumat de de baba, ek baar pradhan mantri banade baba. Kya bhik maang rahe ho? Desh ke liye kya kiye ho? Yatra karte rahoge to kaam kaab karoge?”Asrani wondered at a road rally at Nirjuli this evening.

“Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is a global face who works for 10 crore youths and supports 50% reservation of women in Parliament and the Assembly. He says India is a bouquet while BJP only knows how to instigate to disintegrate,” he cautioned.

“Kuchh idhar jao, kuchh udhar jao, baaki sab kahi mat jao, sab Congress ke pichhe ao, ha haa ...nahi to pitoge,” he thundered enacting his angrez ke zamaney ke jailer act to the thunderous applause of the huge gathering.

Terming Nabam Tuki the number one CM in the country and Western parliamentary candidate Takam Sanjoy number one MP in the NE, AICC general secretary and state in-charge Luizinho Falerio conveyed gratitude of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to the people for getting 11 MLA candidates uncontested, a history in the whole country.

He lambasted the so-called Gujarat model saying it cannot be compared to Arunachal model evolved by Tuki in a state where the people live in harmony as one family despite cultural diversity.

“The Gujarat model is laced with Godhra rot but the Arunachal model initiated youth development and devolution of power to panchayat and municipality, to name a few, with a single agenda - ‘Power to people’,” Falerio reasoned.

Takam Sanjoy has been a very active and vocal member in the Lok Sabha, who has a vision, mission and raised the state and region’s issues in the Parliament with commitment which made him successful while capital development is the testimony of candidate Techi Kaso, he said adding the development vehicle rests in the hands of the people before assuring Congress’ continued support to the state.

Itanagar model is ready which would change the face of the Capital Complex with development with modern technology within five years to be executed by the municipality under the guidance of local MLA whose performance has been very satisfactory, Tuki said assuring safety and security to all sections, including the NERIST family.

The bandh culture has ended with only two bandhs in two years. Any one troubling the traders, common masses and women would not be tolerated. The employees are main organ of the GoAP who have been assured of the 7th pay commission implementation, the labour wages have already been hiked with effect from April 1, women would be given more trading licences while 10 lakh people would be covered under the CM’s Swastha Bima Yojana and councillor Tarh Nachung’s proposal for Nirjuli development would be executed soon, the CM assured.     

“Have faith and elect Congress to power,” Tuki pleaded.

Sanjoy assailed Modi for his jibe at CM Tuki, saying that under Tuki 11 Congress MLAs won uncontested which Modi could not achieve in Gujarat.

Techi Kaso, Congress nominee for Itanagar Assembly constituency, said, “I made all possible endeavours to develop the Capital Complex. Road development was taken up and tenders of projects for massive road reconstructions have been approved for execution.

“My rival has been propagating that I tried to buy him which was a blatant lie,” he said before appealing: “Re-elect me again I assure to be at your back and call all the time.”

Earlier, chief councillor Higio Aruni highlighted the devolution of power to municipality where of the 30 councillors 21 were Congress and with recent joining of five more, the number has risen to 26.

She exhorted the gathering to ensure victory of Kaso and Sanjoy for continuing the speedy development. (Media Cell, APCC)

 

 

India U-19 badminton team leaves for Malaysia today

ITANAGAR, Apr 04: The 23-member Indian Badminton team, including 17-year-old Laa Talar of Arunachal Pradesh, will be leaving New Delhi tomorrow for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to participate in the World Cup Junior (U-19) Badminton Championship to be held at Alore Setar, Malaysia from April 7.

India’s number three, Talar is one of the most promising and talented shuttlers representing the country in the World Cup.

Meanwhile, All Pade Youth Welfare Association (APYWA) has wished Talar good luck for the championship. APYWA has praised Laa Ribe and Laa Gumri, father and mother of Laa Talar and Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA) members for extending all necessary support, proper guidance and encouragement to Talar in time of need. The Association also gave Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, Bangalore, where Talar has been practicing for the last 3 years, for his all success.

Parents of Talar while wishing their son very best for the championship hoped he will bring laurel to the country by winning medal.

Earlier, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh wished Talar best of luck when the latter called on him on March 28. He said that participation of Talar in the presitgious event was a proud moment for the people of Arunachal in particular and the country as a whole.

Earlier, Talar represented India in six prestigious international badminton championships organized by Badminton World Federation (BWF).

 

 

Ministers, MPs, MLAs cannot be poll agents: EC

ITANAGAR, Apr 04: The Election Commission has prohibited ministers, MPs and MLAs from becoming election agents of candidates as their security men can upset level playing field for others in the fray, according to Nirvachan Bhawan release.

The EC in its guidelines also said mayors, chairpersons of municipalities and zila parishads and panchayat bodies are also prohibited from becoming election, polling or counting agents as they can have an influence on a large number of employees of local authorities who are deployed on election duty. This will be improper and contrary to the spirit of level playing field.

Liquor worth over  Rs 1 crore seized

Meanwhile, the flying Squad and Static Surveillance Teams operating in the State under Election Commission of India to control violation of Model Code of Conduct have seized 69503 Ltrs of liquor worth Rs. 1.22 crore. Besides, that a total Cash Rs. 2,32,00,530.00 (Rupees Two Crore thirty two lack five hundred and thirty ) only, huge number of party flags, manifestos, pamphlets, stickers, blankets, local daos, amrs and ammunitions were also sized so far.

Assam should desist from indulging in provocative activities

In yet another provocative act Assam officials headed by DFO and EAC Bihali yesterday morning tried to start construction activity for setting up forest camp inside Arunachal territory at lower Tarasso. They tried to erect RCC pillars but were stopped due to timely intervention of Arunachal govt. officials posted at Tarasso.

According to the report Assam government has sanctioned Rs 70 lacs for construction of forest camp inside Arunachal territory at Tarasso. The Assam officials wanted to take advantage of election atmosphere, thinking citizens of Tarasso will be busy in election process and therefore will not notice their activities. Such heinous act by Assam will only add to the growing anger against them. Tarasso has already witnessed firing incident in January month which lead loss to of lives. Following that economic blockade imposed against Arunachal had given immense trouble to the citizen of Arunachal. After lot of difficulties two sides are trying to get over that traumatic period and moving ahead. However such illegal act of Assam officials will not help the cause of bridging gap.

It’s time to be alert

Dear Editor,

Through your esteemed daily I would once again like to make Arunachal Govt. and public aware that as whole state is busy in the election process, the neighboring state Assam may try to encroach more Arunachal territory. During 2009 election Mopin ground at Likabali was completely encroached and the state was silent as citizens were busy with election. This time simultaneous elections would be more blindfolding the people and the Govt. The recent attempt of encroachment at Tarasso by Assam Govt is a big eye opener. If I am not wrong last year at the time of Nagaland Election, Assam Govt interrupted polling process in certain polling stations along Nagaland-Assam boundary claiming land to be theirs. The Govt. should provide adequate security and no one should be allowed to enter without ILP in all the foothill areas of Likabali sub-division and other Assam-Arunachal boundary areas. Assam is going for poll on 7th and Arunachal on 09th. There are chances of encroachment in the foothill areas, so take care Arunachal.

Can Youth Change the Game?

Dear Editor,

150 million is the figure of first time voters India will see in the 2014 general Election. Will this Stupendous Figure be a political game changer? Perhaps yes, if one goes by the number alone. However, what one is not sure about is whether the change would be for good or bad.

In the context of our state, out of 743350 total voters, we have 30399 first time voters. We are a state where almost very youth is a political pundit. Young boys from high school time onwards aim for career in the student politics which is very much visible in our state. Moreover the list of crorepaties that were splashed in newspaper recently might have made our young minds more determine to choose politics as a lucrative career option. The Social Medias are flooded with posts of politics and politicians, allegations and appreciations, either pulling the noses or elongating the noses. As I said everyone seems to be a political pundit. Now seeing this, our mind taunts us. Can Youth Change Game?

Our literacy rate is low, even amongst the youth it is dismally low and employment scenario too is very scary, one cannot perceive our youth as a thinking or revolutionary force. Thus it appears that our feloniously shrewd political class would be able to turn their frustrating gullibility rather easily. Our politicians are well versed in selling false dreams.

Undoubted, our urban youths, (youths that access social networking and modern techs) in comparison to their rural brethren are more informed and practical in their approach to life.  As a youth of this land, I have never ever come across platforms like student politics where money isn’t involve. And the open secret is that the highest bidder wins the race. Is it a healthy or unhealthy practice especially in Arunachal Pradesh is debatable. Because the life style in our state is such that many of youth financially support their own education and their life.

So it is understood that majority of the youth are still dependent on the easy money making and election is a festival where politicians slug out their wealth. Therefore it’s hard to assume that our youth would be politically mature. But then there is always a hope.

It is for youth and every individual to think and ponder to give their one vote to a valued selfless leader, who can back the creative wealth of the state and bring a change of corruption-free state.

Say no to defector

Dear Editor,

Every day in your daily many party members extend their support to the contesting candidates of the Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assembly. Majority of them are resigning from their respective party and joining the other party. They do not show any loyalty or dedication towards their respective parties from whose ticket they have won the election. They change parties only for their own selfish interest. We find defection here too. The parties in Arunachal Pradesh always have a centrist tendency, by changing the govt according the govt formed in center. This shows that defection is only the way of survival for the govt in our state. I hope that the future of our state should be in good hands and not with the defectors. Are they really trust worthy? Actually a big NO.
